Whole-wheat dinner rolls

easy to make and perfect for thanksgiving dinner!

In a large bowl add in the warm milk and stir in the yeast and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Leave it to sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

Add in the whole wheat flour, the all purpose flour, the remaining sugar, egg and salt. Turn the mixer on low and combine it into a shaggy dough. Do this in a mixer or by hand

Add in the cubed butter , oiece by piece and knead or mix until the dough is strong.  Let it rise until doubled.

Once doubled, shape the dough into a 15inch log and cut it into 15 x 1 inch pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.

Let them rise until doubled, then brush with milk or melted butter and bake.
