Soft  Snickerdoodle Cookie Bars

They are chewy cookies bars with the best soft texture and slightly tangy flavor from the added cream of tartar.

Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar. Beat in an egg and vanilla.)

Whisk together all-purpose flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Add this to the butter mixture.

Mix it on low speed until it's a thick and slightly sticky dough. Press this into a 8x8 square pan.

Sprinkle with a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

Bake at 350F for approximately 18-20 minutes until the edges are baked and the middle is set.

Let the cookie bars cool, then cut into 16 equal pieces.

Store leftover cookie bars in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
