Sticky  Pecan Buns

Sticky  Pecan Buns

Sticky buns are cinnamon buns that have been baked in a pool of caramel and chopped pecans.

Sprinkle yeast and sugar over warm milk. Add in the flour, salt, and egg and mix into a shaggy dough.

Add in the softened butter. Keep mixing  for around 10 minutes until the soft dough is smooth and strong.

Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, around about 1 hour. The exact rise time will depend on your room temperature.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt together the butter, brown sugar, honey, and salt until the butter and sugar have melted.

Pour the caramel into the lined baking tray and use an offset spatula to gently spread it out. Top it with the chopped pecans.

Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread with melted butter.

Spread over a mixture of cinnamon and brown sugar.

Roll it up from the long edge, and slice it into 9 slices.

Place the rolls on top of the caramel and pecans

Let the rise until doubled in size

Bake until deeply browned.

Once baked, remove the buns from the oven and carefully invert them onto the parchment paper tray.
